Thammarat’s music carries his promise to always be loud in a beautiful way.

Born in an orphanage in Thailand, adopted, and raised in Maryland by a family of international human rights attorneys, he grew up between stories of resilience, justice, oppression, and belonging. After going through some dark times in high school, he began writing original songs to make peace with his identities and reconnect with a world he no longer trusted. What began as therapeutic journaling and piano sing-alongs with his late grandfather became an ongoing journey of healing, self-discovery, and change. Today, he takes the stage as an openly gay, gender-expansive, Thai American artist, performing original “gaysian theater pop” anthems on the same digital keyboard his grandfather loved so dearly. Using his raw voice, three chords, and the truth, Thammarat aims to honor the vast lineage of queer and POC artists who came before him and, in the words of his grandfather, create music that you can carry with you long after he’s gone.
